his running form is so much different than pre's. how can you say that? this dumbar is a heel striker, low rigid arms, and runs straight up and down. pre was a mid foot striker, with free flowing arms, with a slightly forward lean.
Any word on the schools that Dunbar is looking at?
make sure that Teg hasnt been cloned
you know they have gene doping now
Yea good one, and a week later German broke a 20+ year old course record that many, many top runners have run on..
Jeez old news come on guys. i saw this like over 2 weeks ago
not to take anything away from this guy, but didn't Reed Connor run 8:54 a FEW weeks back, with 2nd place Drew Butler (9:01), not to mention not really being paced?
He also won TX state in 14:47, over guys like zach ornelas (14:59), craig lutz, cj brown, and tons of other great runners.
Ornelas was sub 15:00 on the track last year, and also around 9:11ish.
I wouldn't call Dunbar the favorite quite yet, though I'm pretty sure Connor is only going to NTN... so hopefully Dunbar does as well.
Congratulations. You want a cookie?
Anyone who can train and produce times living so close to the arctic circle...has to get some respect.
In winter, Dunbar only gets 5-6 hours to train...so maybe half of his runs are in the dark and cold conditions. Bad ass.
You hear about so many athletes coming from sunny CA or moving to sunny flagstaff to train. It's refreshing runners emerge from totally non-runner-friendly places like the Alaskan fridge.

-hahahahahahaha!!!!! dude, it was in a SNOW STORM on an ICY TRACK!!! and you call that pacing??? hahahahahaha! that was worth at least 1-2 seconds per lap. i really hope you were not being serious comparing 9.01 in crap conditions to ANYTHING else!
WOOWOWOWOWOWO this young guy deserves respect...The next time I have to do a workout in a little could I will not complain a bit...Go Trevor
dude. did u watch the video? it was icy and f'in' snowing! have you ever run in that kinda cold?
unless a fake, that is a grade-a beef, top-shelf scotch, awesome time trial. whether it translates to deity status in normal weather is to be seen, but give him his propers.

Honestly weather there isn't that bad. It is temperate because of the ocean.
You are right on with the time to train during the winter months though. I think schools typically allow their athletes out early to train but I am not sure about this.
Before you guys start bashing me saying the weather isn't bad there look at the averages:
http://countrystudies.us/united-states/weather/Alaska/kodiak.htmthen compare it to Minneapolis:
http://countrystudies.us/united-states/weather/minnesota/minneapolis.htmDuluth:http://countrystudies.us/united-states/weather/minnesota/duluth.htm
Madison:http://countrystudies.us/united-states/weather/wisconsin/madison.htm
Fargo:
http://countrystudies.us/united-states/weather/north-dakota/fargo.htmOr look at some east coast or UP michigan if you want cold
Ok you get the point... It isn't actually cold in cities like Juneau or Kodiak.
Ooo, numbers. Have you ever been to Kodiak?
It's awesome to be out here in NH reading about Trevor, can't wait to see some more results.
I've seen a few things in 35 years, but this was particularly inspiring.
This is what running is about at it's purest. Good friends and honest effort, no matter the circumstances.
man, carson alone probably cost Trevor a few precious seconds by slamming on the brakes right in front of him (see part 2, pretty hilarious). Dunbar seems like the real deal. VERY fit!
Somewhere Malmo just gave his seal of bad-ass approval.
The only thing that can top this is a workout during a hurricane.
you are totally right, its not that could in the south/southeast Alaska I lived in that area for 4 years, it actually doesn't really get colder than 20 all that much, in this part it snows a lot, but temperatures are quite nice since its close to the gulf of Alaska especially on towns on the water like Kodiak, Juneau and Valdez. It could easily get up to about 38 most days in the winter. In the summer its actually great nice and virtually perfect for summer base miles as it barely gets dark and temperatures are usually in the 50's. getting as high as 75, but sometimes a heat wave rolls through and the temps get up to the 90's. In the winter its not that bad x-country ski trails are nicely groomed so the snow on them is packed well and easy to run on, and in the non snowy months these trails are perfect running trails as long as your careful about bears. Well in the winter in the southeast it get light around 9 dark around 4, so yeah not ideal but to be honest there aren't much cars to worry about so as long as your running in bright colors you should be fine. I would rather run in Alaska than Michigan, Minnesota or any place that it gets really frigid, the south/southeast of Alaska has mild temperatures but a lot of snow.
You wrote all that to indirectly say it was no big deal.....get a life!
I thought it was Bad Ass.
It looks as if they aren't running in lane 1 a good amount of the time either. assuming that inside uncovered part is lane 1.
