Hi, I just bought two pairs of nike ventulus spikes a half size different with plans to return the pair that doesn't fit as well.
However, the 10.5 and 11 both feel pretty good and I am having trouble deciding which one will be best. Instinctually i figured if the smaller one feels alright that should be the racing spike to go with. however, i have a wider forefoot and i don't feel like i can spread my toes to their full extent. im not sure if that is as important with racing spikes though. On the other hand, when i wear the 11's i don't really feel like i'm wearing anything except i can notice a little bit that there is a little extra space at the end of the shoe.
Thus, i think in terms of length the 10.5 fits better but i can spread my toes all the way.
Is there a rule of thumb to always go with the smaller spike? I know it is often said that racing shoes should feel a little snug. Is it worse to have a little too much room at the end?
I wish I could run with them both outside but since i need to return one i am stuck running back and forth in my living room which doesn't allow me to see what it feels like to be in a comfortable stride at 5k pace.
