if your're son join the army to you blame the war on him?
I am proud fan of Rupp's.....you can't blame him for wanting to be the best!
But then again....I can't think of many young talented American runners whom I don't like.

Even though he has that breath strip, alter G treadmill and other technologies to help him, as well as a personal coach, I can guarantee 2 things:
1)He is still more talented then 99% of runners in the NCAA
2)He still works harder then 99% of runners in the NCAA
I guess it's just human nature to be jealous.
either him or hany abdallah
Non of these responses have anything to do with the topic. The question is not if you like rupp or not, nor does it have anything to do with the reasons one may or may not like him. It is simply, "is rupp the most hated runner in the NCAA."

either say yes he is the most hated runner in NCAA or provide a name of someone who is more hated. Otherwise don't answer.
In my opinion I would say yes, he is the most hated. I personally have nothing against the guy but i ain't gonna kiss his ass.
Anyone who runs for a team that gets beat by other teams composed primarily of foreigners probably dislikes those foreigners collectively more than anyone on this site dislikes Rupp.
He is the best runner in the NCAA.
yes
He is a blessing in disguise.
I think he is the most disliked runner in NCAA because
1. he is seen as not being tough. His coach pulls him from a race because the course is not smooth enough. In the USA we like tough guys.
2. He is the best right now and people are jealous
let me give a little perspective from a guy who currently runs in the NCAA. I won't be on the line next Monday, just for the record. (but I have run at Nationals recently.)
it's not about jealousy- people didn't necessarily hate McDougal Solinsky, Bairu, Ritz, etc. like they hate Rupp. It's the way he went about doing it, and the suspicions regarding his associations with Nike. People feel that Rupp has been given an unfair advantage, in the sense of NCAA competition. I think you'll find most of the people who hate him in a Duck uniform will cheer for him once he's a pro in a 'USA' uniform. At that point it's a level playing field.
Also, I think Acosta and Abdallah are more hated. Almost nobody over age 19 seems to like Acosta. (I'm sure he has friends and teammates who think he's great, but that doesn't make his actions and attitude excusable.)

Right now I hate you a lot more.
NCAA GUY
My number two was jealous. I should have stated why? I do not think that most hate him because of his talent but because of the Nike, Coach Sal stuff like you stated. I have heard that Rupp is a very nice guy without a lot of ego like the others you stated.
I understand why Coach Sal pulled him from the meet, so he would not get injuried but many see him as being weak. I do think that Rupp has a bright future and I do not hate him and I am not a huge fan of his either. I do think he will win the NCAA's
I think that Rupp will eventually be the face of American distance running... so get used to it.
He is an extremely talented runner with enormous talent AND he's from the US... so stop hating him. Maybe it will be Rupp who can bring the US back on to the international distance scene. What's so terrible about that?
Moreover, I wish him the best of luck at NCAA's and the rest of his races.
I sure hope so.
I could run sub-27:00 tomorrow if I had a treadmill that could blow air under my feet.

ya don't say. I think most people dislike Galen not because of his benefits from Nike/Salazar etc but because he is a wimp who talks like a fairy. there, I said it.

Moreover,....
prick
yes bc of his loser training away from his "team"

I'll give you a few.....rich, spoiled, personal coach (Salazar), given everything. He hasn't had to work for anything in his life. I guarantee you that you give any 9th grader the same advantages he's had his whole life and they would become just as good. I also guarantee that you take away salazar and all the money his family has and he wouldn't even be breaking 30 mins for 10k.
Your joking right???
If you think that anyone with the same tools at his disposal could run as fast as Rupp your an IDIOT. Rupp is one of the most talented runners in the US if not the most and I doubt hardly anyone could run as fast as him had they the same advantages.
Rupp at least has some fans around here. I make fun of him, but do at least root for him in international competition. I just want him to lose to pretty much any other American in college and national competition. The most hated runner on letsrun has to be Rashid Ramzi. I don't think I've read one nice thing about him here.
nope. hes white. we all hate all the black runners more
