The Federation need to be banned from sending athletes to compete in major championships until after the next worlds as punishment. This makes Balco look like a kitten in comparison.

uh, absolutely! That's a little questionable for me as well... I hope the truth will come out about her- either way

Did this not raise your eyebrows at NY?
"Ludmila Petrova of Russia, the 2000 New York champion, took second at age 40 in 2:25:43 and set a world record for a masters age-group runner".
Also Russian women went one, two in Chicago this year.

Strychnine- amazing, yes it is a performance enhancer, but it is also a deadly poison. Anybody else read much Agatha Christie? Man, sometimes people who dope amaze me with their stupidity.
People smoke cigarettes to be cool, rebel, and take out their stress. Is this really that surprising?
What should be done about it? Um, they were suspended, that's what was done about it, Einstein.

Unbelievable is all I can say. I'm not sure what should be done but the this unfortunately is just going to reinforce the prejudice I have when analyzing all Russian performances and most Moroccan. I know that's not PC to say but I do know that most of the higher ups in the sport privately believe the same thing.

PS. I'm sure many people overseas view American sprinting the same way.
I completely agree. Perhaps RAF (or any country's governing federation/body that has 16 drug cheats caught in the past few months) should be banned from allowing ANY athletes to compete. Then maybe athletes will consider their teammates and country before using PEDs.
At this point, I'm not sure any Russians are clean. I don't think it is un-PC. The *team* they represent is Russia. If a college team had a bunch of drug cheats, I wouldn't trust that team's performances either. It has nothing to do with nationality. It has to do with who is responsible. Not just the athlete, but the coach(es), agents, teammates, and anyone else associated.
Slippery slope, USATF would have beat the RAF to such a reputation and sanction long ago. Don't be self-righteous, stupid US Americans.
I don't know anyone who thinks Lidiya Grigoyeva, who won Chicago and won Boston, is clean. I also would bet huge amounts of cash that Gulnara the steeplechaser gold medalist is juiced heavily. Somehow she's been under the radar.
I'd also be stunned if the Ukrainainas who got 2nd and 3rd in the Olympic women's 1500 aren't juiced.
I thought you guys were all Free Marketeers, how is that any different here?
Whats with all the willing acceptance of regulation by the gov?
