After my cross country season is over when I'm getting in a good base and running indoor, I plan on starting a pretty good weight lifting program. I plan on starting out lifting just for upper body strength and then maybe gradually get into some lower body lifting. What I want to know is how much lifting just arms will hurt my recovery from workouts, if any? Will the lower body stuff hurt my recovery from workouts? Basically I just don't want the weightlifting to cause me to run any less. Help would be appreciated.
