What is the best thing you've found while running?

I found a really nice, yet older picket knife once.

I'm surprised no one has answered "my dream girl wife" yet. Wouldn't that be awesome!

$93.XX dollars in a pile of change...had to go back and pick it up with something...woo!

I forgot that I found a North Face sleeping bag. It was on the middle of a trail (In town, not a place where people camp) that I run on my morning run all the time. No one was around, scooped it up ran home put it in the wash and finished the last ten or so minutes. Can't explain where or who it came from to this day. I just hope it was not used in a crime.

I've found a few hundred bucks over the 4 years I've been a runner. The most I kept at once was 20 pounds (about 40USD) at the time in a seedy park by Heathrow Airport on a 5am run. I found a wallet with $120 in it another time, jammed it in my shorts and took it home. There was a credit card and I actually tracked the lady down and returned it to her, figure that should get me some points in the karma bank....though her wallet was covered in ball sweat from being in the pocket in my shorts.

I was helping put on a small bare-bones duathlon several years back. One of the participants, an older woman, came back from the first run with a freaking duck decoy.

The thing I find most that bums me out are American flags that have been lost from the vehicles of the uber-patriotic. Ah, but that's another thread.

I dated a girl for a short while who was following me around on a bike at 11:00PM - scared the crap out of me. She had been following me for 20 min or so - just far enough back that I knew someone was behind me - but couldn't really see her.

I found this amazing red bike, I ride it everyday now. Its name is "Red Rover".

A poop dollar.

My college teammates and I found some lumber binding tape that was about 300 feet in length. We drug it the whole way back to campus while cars ran it over behind us. If memory serves me correctly we also found a magazine titled "Naughty Neighbors".

There are numerous other things I have seen while running. Among the numerous tools I have picked up, I once found a nice Estwing hammer. I have picked up a few dollars but nothing of serious value. I have seen lots of wildlife--deer, coyotes, snakes, elk, owls. I just hope I don't come face to face with a mountain lion someday.

My wife found me...We were both running but she came up behind me and start talking to me first. Not a bad find at all. Almost 9 years later we are still running. Just did a nice 50 miler together. Oh, and I find money all the time. That is a good find as well...almost as good as the wife.

and if you dont find that funny, i found a 12 mile loop by accident that i now do about 5 days out of the week.

Dude, not cool. That happened to me earlier this year:

Just yesterday I found a money clip in the middle of the path I run. I picked it up and found a drivers license, medical card and $95 in cash. Over 20+ years of running and that is the first time I have found cash. I called the guy up and returned his clip to him (yes, with all the cash). He was very grateful.

Wow, I was out running with my cousin and we spotted a similar appliance only it had a plug for a receptacle. I picked it up by the plug and then he opened a mail box and I swung it in.
