Do not ignore 2.a.
K2 should be beaten with a smart stick. I was trying to find out what he was talking about when everyone was basically screaming the rules he quoted back at him. Now I know, added up all 7!! GOOD ONE!!! Seriously, take your idiot show on the road!
I suspect -- or at least I sincerely hope -- that K2 is just trolling. If not, K2 takes the prize (and there's some tough competition) for stupidest letsrun poster in the history of the world. Learn to read (hint: the answer is in section b). Learn to count.
My bad, you are right. Thanks for clearing this up for me.
haha, that was pretty funny :)
Thanks for all your positive responses, K2
You are back to having Western's #8 and #9 count against Colorado's score. According to NCAA regulations, #6 and #7 can count against another team's score, not anyone beyond the top 7.
You're right, I did read section b, literally.
1,2,5,8,14= 30
3,4,6,7,9= 29
Sorry for all you guys getting all worked up again. Go for a run and forget about it.
K2,
In one post you make CU's 5th runner 12th place (which is correct). In a subsequent post you make the 5th runner 14th place. In both, you seem to be including only the top 7 as displacers, which is the correct way to score the meet.
You are obviously either making an error or you are intentionally continuing this argument by doctoring the "facts" to suit your argument.

Wrong. You are once again including Western's 8 and 9 runners as pushers.
One more time, I will explain this. If you don't get it yet, you either are not trying to get it, are just trying to stir the pot, or are too dense to figure it out. Regardless, I am done trying to explain after this attempt.
According to NCAA regulations...
Runners 1-5 count for the team's score (aka scorers).
Runners 6-7 are included in team results, pushing back scorers for other teams, but do not count in their own team's score (aka pushers).
Runners 8+ are removed from team scoring results (aka just some guys on the course).
By the rules...
Colorado: 1+2+5+8+12=28
Western: 3+4+6+7+9=29
i felt like i was stuck in the movie "groundhog's day" while reading this thread.
Hey Boykin
I said I'm sorry, now go for a run and forget about it.
K2
in the high school conference that i ran in we scored the top 5 and the top 8 could displace...this made things a little more interesting...if you only score 7 than a 1-2-3 is an automatic win:
1-2-3-11-12=29
4-5-6-7-8-(9)-(10)=30
but if you let 8 displace you can still go 1-2-3 and lose:
1-2-3-12-13=31
4-5-6-7-8-(9)-(10)-(11)=30
this actually happend to our girls team my sr. year, they went 1-2-3 only to have the other team put the next 8 girls arcross the line and win
