Goodluck! sorry to hear about your foot, hopefully it'll feel 100% for the race. It seems like everytime I try to do a MP run I get too into it and end up splitting 6:40s and 30s with some 6:50s thrown in too. My pace judgement isn't 100% but I've done alot more work on this course lately at MP and think I can hit most miles within 3-5 seconds over or under 6:50 pace. I'm most likely trying to split something like this :
mile 1 ~ 7:00-7:15 (uphill)
mile 2-21 from 6:50 to 7:05 (most likely alot of miles around 6:47, 6:51, 6:53, 6:57, on a good day I'd like to keep it quick) although miles 3 and 4 have a few bumps so 7:0x pace wouldn't be too shabby
miles 22-26.2 around 6:50-6:40 pace working down if my legs are still turning over
I'm trying to split anywhere from 1:29 to 1:33 for the half, on a decent to a good day I'll go through the half at 1:29,1:30 hopefully. I'd love a 2:58 or 9 but I'll settle for a 3:05 or so and a BQ as well if the going gets tough. If these splits suit your speed, let me know. I'll keep this post alive the best I can until race day. Race day I'll have a white singlet on w/green shorts and white/red/blue nike zoom marathoners, I'm about 6 ft even brown hair and I'm 19. Young I know but that's what happens when you start messing around with marathons at 15-16. I'll post my race # soon for anyone trying to group up.
