Just starting a post wondering if there are any people out there looking to form a little pace crew for Baystate. I'm looking for a 2:57 or thereabouts, but I wouldn't mind a 3:05 or so on a tough day. The course can be windy and people would benefit from a group to shield the wind. Since its also the USATF New England championchip there may be running clubs out there benefitting from a group while the rest of us battle around the river alone.
If we can find a few of us, we could form a pack and share the lead every 2-3 miles or so. I'm looking for a 1:29 - 1:33 1st half, no real preference. I've done 15 of 17 miles at 6:50 pace and I average a MP run of at least 10 miles per week so I'm prepared to do my share of leading. I've just run a 20 mile long run as a progression run averaging 7:01 with negative splits (1st 10 medium, 5 MP, 5 tempo).
If anyone is interested, let's continue with this thread and maybe make this happen. That second loop is probably alot better feeling with a group than alone if there's a stiff wind.
