So are you saying that marines are tougher, or that they are equally tough?
Do you believe that marine training is more difficult than SEAL training?
Also, who do you think would win in a fight, the SEAL or the MMA fighter?
Simple. If we do a big movie (and it's picked up) about the CIA, then the pubilc opinion changes and says the CIA are the toughest. It's happened so many times thus far the pattern is obvious. Mossad, Dirty Dozen, The Green Berets, Top Gun, Few Good Men, FBI, NYFD, LAPD, Crips/Bloods, Mexican Mafia, Bruce Lee, etc. If you don't know, many movies which are made and are not picked up i.e. bought by distributors. Some that don't, make it to DVD. TV shows that aren't picked up by the major networks, might make it to cable. Hooray for Hollywood.

It changes. After the Super Bowl, the NFL is the baddest. After the Stanley Cup, Canadians are the baddest. After the 2006 Lebanon-Israel war, Hezbollah was the baddest. After Top Gun, Navy/Marine Aviators were the baddest. After Boyz N The Hood, Crenshaw High School Crips and Bloods were the baddest. After Saving Private Ryan, 101st Airborne was the baddest. Oddly enough, the top outfit certified by the Presidents, Congresses, and Pentagon brass as being the baddest has never had a bigtime Hollywood movie picked up and distributed ;-) The botton line is that whatever we do here in L.A. greatly influences public opinion. That's why L.A. is where the production and talent studios are for Universal/NBC Sports, Univision, ESPN Sports, Yahoo Sports, Telemundo, CSTV/CBS Sports, ABC Sports, etc.
Aside from 13, a good mma fighter in the league of a Randy Couture, Fedor Emelianenko, Lyoto Machida, Rampage Jackson, Rashad Evans, Frank Mir, or Brock Lesnar would destroy any straight military trained fighter. This is a stupid thread.
UFC is an act, not sports.
Do you think your tired act is funny?
Shit, why do I waste time as I do....30 seconds of my life gone that I won't get back.
were talking real life not Hollywood.
Im in the navy and have been stationed with and workout with marines several times.(aviation marines) The first time I was stationed with the marines was hilarious. I would literally laugh in thier face during PT because they were weak. One kid seriously could not do more than 20 pushups. I know fat girls who can do more.
In a whole other class would be marine recon. Though I would say that seals have a slight advantage over them.
to this whole MMA fight, I would take an MMA fighter, they train for it and have different styles of fighting.
spec ops train to "dominate the battle space" they really dont have kill in 10sec moves. The only way to do it is to break a guys neck. There is no physical way you can pinch someones neck and they'll faint and all that jazz.
mma in an mma fight. spec ops in a combat scenario.
what makes you guys think that the UFC is staged?
Obama has to cut waste and duplication to weed down the deficit. Gates is leaving next year. Tidbits about the post-Gates Pentagon are beginning to appear. Obama will have Shinseki an SF guy take over. The Pentagon will eliminate AF & N SF from the budget. Already in Afghan, MC have assumed much of the SOCOM function.
wow, you found me out!
im going to go kill myself now at the realization of being raped by a marine.
I workout in a MMA training camp i mainly do Brazilian Jui Jitsu and we have Marines, seals, cops, Rangers, swat, you name it they have been through to workout with us. I would pick a blue belt BJJ to beat a seal in a fight every time. A UFC fighter would crush a Seal!!!!
UFC is a organized sport as are T&F, Wrestling, XC, football, Karate, etc. It has rules to prevent injuries and promote sportsmanship. SF are mid-career military, 25-35 year olds. Many UFC people wash out of basic before ever getting to SF. The Army isn't easy even with chicks in basic. Training for Navy, Army, Air Force SF soldiers are similar. Marine/CG have a smaller force and very tight budget. The Pentagon makes Marine/CG use the other 3 branches for Military Police school, Jump school, Ranger School, SF school, Dive school, and all other schools wherever possible. These schools are all basically the same across the military services. But Marines and Rangers are unlike in that they are regularly used for special ops. For instance, USAF Capt O'Grady was rescued in Bosnia. Small unit special ops utilizing USMC Weapons Platoon soldiers were parachute dropped in. They spent days in heavily enemy territory, found and rescued O'Grady alive. These dudes were not GB, not Recon, not Rangers.
Boatloads of boxers, kung fu fighters, UFC, cops, football players, firemen, wrestlers, Tae Kwan Do practicioners, MMA/Jiu-Jitsu artists, runners, etc. have washed out of Army Basic. When you kill and die for your country it is for all ot nothing. If you live you get to die at 85 from heart disease. If you are killed you lose all those experiences, alll those tommorrows. You are for eternity a 19 year old. The Army is not a game where your mommy can save you. We weed out the weak, many of whom are macho sports jocks. After getting processed out of the Army they go through life as normal civilians. Very few admit til the day they die they washed out of Basic. Only their closest relatives know. Usually the wife and his kids don't even know ;-)
That's just puff puff. Where's the kill. If there's no dead body you get no bonus, no promotion, no liberty.

Tim fights at 260 pounds yet he came into that fight at 310. That isn't 50 pounds of muscle he put on. The last time Sylvia was any good was three years ago. Plus am I missing something? Is Ray Mercer a Navy Seal?
That's odd. The Pentagon allows full-time soldiers do civilian entertainment stunt demos ? I heard of WCAP, and the Army had a track team in the 1970s,
The wrote the fight that way this time. The next grudge match the other guy will get revenge. Then his buddy will fight next and lose. They script it to sell tickets. I love UFC, WWE, and MMA. It's superb entertainment.
