First off, I'd like to state I'm not fast. Hopefully someone out there can still offer me advice though.
I'm shooting for a 3:10 (~7:15 pace) fall marathon, and there is an organized group 20 miler 3 weeks before the race. I realize its kind of lame, but it should be a good prep for 'race conditions' (other runners, aid along the course, etc). There will be pace groups for the training run that I'd like to utilize, which brings me to my question:
Option A) Run the entire 20 miles with the 7:30 pace group
Option B) Run the first 10 with the 8:00 pace group, then try to run the last 10 'solo' at MP (7:15 ish).
I've heard of the 10/10 long run laid out in option B, but was curious if option A might be more beneficial. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
