Well first of all, you guys should get to know a little about me. I'm a junior runner in high school. I have a current 5k PR of 16 50. And I run for a pretty prestigous program in a hot climate down south. I run for a coach who is very famous for overtraining his runners. Also, this is my first summer of intensive training, and that I've hit good times, consistantly.
My summer training has included:
At first a couple of 60-75 mile weeks
Then basicly sets of "hell" weeks consisting of 3-100 mile weeks.
After this, consistent 78-85 mile weeks.
And now that season's about to start, we've dropped to 65 mile weeks, but with more speed.
In your opinion, do you think I could possibly be overtraining? My state meet is in two months, and my coaches goal is for us to peak at our state meet. However, judging on my condition that I am in right now (sore, fatigued, fear of tapering early) I think that I already have peaked, and now I'm in the process of burning out. Remember that this is the first time that I've ever trained like this, and I don't know what burning out feels like.
Some feedback would be very nice. I am eager to here some opinions
