Okay, including The 'Bart in the top ten may have been an attempt at humor on rage's part. Still, they have a decent program. I think their roster has about 2% of the school's students, and other than Vassar they may be close to the top of cross-country-only (no track) programs in NYS.
You mean besides Clarkson University.
the real top 10...only more real this time
guys
Cortland

you are off in your predictions once again my friend. good try though. and obviously you are from rochester, because only people from rochester call it rocha cha.
just wondering, honest question here, why does everyone feel the need to fellate the second rate suny schools?
it was an honest effort (Clarkson will surprise)...what would you have done differently?
sorry, my bad, it was just meant as a general statement. i was just reading through this thread and that's what came to my mind. biases aside, i think you're poll is pretty accurate.
I find it hard to believe that Cortland women did not slip down in the rankings. Plattsburgh and Hamilton beat them pretty easily. From what I see, they were only missing one of their better girls. I do not think she would have made a difference.
Oneonta Invite
1. Hamilton (AR#7) - 56
2. Plattsburgh (AR#8) - 63
4. Cortland (AR#4) - 80
Yeah, except they were missing Palen, Ramsbotham, McGrath, Dalton, Holt and probably a few more. they would have won handily with all of them. Take Oswego's results, combine them with Oneonta's and thats their full team. Oh yeah and then add Palen in first place.
While Plattsburgh and Hamilton looked very good at the Oneonta meet I have to agree with "ehhh". If Cortland ever runs everyone full stregnth I might even put them ahead of Ithaca. Certainly no lower than 3rd.
Comparing the 2 4.5k's from Oswego to Oneonta, Cortland was the only team to run both. Jess Stanton, Caitlin Sullivan and Liz Wolf all ran about a minute faster at Oneonta. What do you think...were the Cortland women holding back at Oswego? If so their top girls at Oswego will be very good. Was the Oswego course slow for once? Not likely in my mind. Is Oneonta a fast or short course???
Where is Andi Palen and Lisa Holt, injured?
I dont remember the oneonta course being fast or short from my experiences. Unless Pic changed it this year. (I dont think he did)
the reason for the difference can simply be explained by weather. it was over 80 degrees and humid as hell at oswego while a cool 59 degrees when the gun went off at oneonta for the ladies race
Palen and Holt on the same schedule as the Cortland guys maybe? Waiting till either Pre-Regionals or PS to race? That would be my guess.

O's course is pretty fair for the men and women. The big factor is how rainy the weather has been. There's not too many 6k's around to compare with but on a good day, it's an average course.
hah sweet handle roid rage...looks like the big meet this weekend is SLU
Brockport
Clarkson
Geneseo
Hamilton
Ithaca
Oneonta
Plattsburgh
RIT
Cortland
hopefully DeSales finishes last (just to make the atlantic look stronger)
UoR is goign to Roberts Wesleyan...NYU is going to Connecticut College...RPI is going to Williams
i saw Cortlands top guys at Oneonta. They looked like they were doing a pretty quick run on the course before the races.
yes its called a tempo warm-up. probably 10-14 minutes total of a cut down run ending around race pace. Welcome to college training and racing.
