Coulda, shoulda, woulda, the system may not be perfect but it has come a long way since the days of 2 teams and 4 individuals (2005). Personally, I'm happy for Plattsburgh, and the other 4 teams as well, and wish them all the best of luck at Nationals. I'd love nothing more than to see them take 1-5, but I'm not holding my breath. You can't change the past, so be happy that the committee chose 5 teams, and the maximum number of people we can send. It gives runners like Tom Williams, who had an off day, a chance for redemption.

its not that simple. you have to consider a) the level of competition this year versus last year and b) the performances of other teams at other regionals. there were a lot of blown performances at other regions (ex keene state). unless you have in depth knowledge of the all the other teams that qualified from other regions, you can't definitively say that there was another more deserving team that didn't get in.
Couldn't agree more. Everyone who's bitching about the teams who made it are just upset that their teams didn't. People stepped up in real XC weather and it showed. The races yest. separated the strong runners from the weak. Tom Williams should be kissing the selection committee's feet that they allowed Plattsburgh a bid.
id have tom williams babies any day.
those babies would be born with a sweet beard. thats for damn sure. I wish i could grow one like that.
At least he won't graduate with a degree in phys-ed!
Does anyone know what the national course is like?

following the established tradition in this thread, I'm gonna go ahead and say it's short
It's not bad, not as easy as it looks. A lot of rolling hills the whole way. It was nice weather in 2004, but the course was a little soggy.
I mean 2003.
the results from 2003 nats at Hanover:

Atlantic Region,
I wanted to wish everyone going to Nationals this weekend good luck. To everyone else, good luck with indoor and outdoor track. Having no more eligibility left for track I have come to realize that in just one short week my collegiate career will come to an end. I have enjoyed my four years and feel privileged that I was able to be a part of the Atlantic Region.
I have posted on here only one other time in my four years because I try to avoid responding for sake of an argument or to post opinions to various topics. But I could not think of an easier to way to reach every team and say what I needed to say other than to post on letsrun. I wanted to thank every team and athlete for the friendships, the memories, and the respect they have shown me over the years. I can only hope that I have shown everyone the same respect and friendship that I wanted to portray. This has been an experience of a lifetime that I will never forget. I would not have wanted to be a part of anything other than the Division III Atlantic Region.
This post is for anyone that I have not said thanks to or I feel that I have not shown my appreciation towards, and to take this time and say exactly that. I appreciate all the support and connections with various teams that I have made over the years than I can ever begin to thank everyone for. No matter what conference, state, public/private, SUNY school, and every team that makes up the Atlantic Region, I feel that this is the best competition, personalities, and experiences that are immeasurable. No matter where I go in my life from here on out I will always remember what this region has meant to me over the past 4 years. How it has been and always will be a huge part of my life. The respect from coaches/athletes/and teams as a whole has made me reflect this week, and made me realize just what I will be missing very shortly down the road.
I would like to tell everyone good luck in whatever way life takes you. To those of you still in school, good luck with the rest of your years. The biggest piece of advice I can say is to enjoy what you do day in and day out. My favorite part of each day was looking forward to the next run/workout/and meet because that is what I loved to do, and on a run is when I realized each time why it was such an important part of my life. Consider running a privilege and an opportunity that not everyone has, and that being part of an NCAA team and the Atlantic Region should not be taken for granted at any second. To those of you who are finishing up or who have graduated, I hope life treats you well in your careers and you were able to look back on the years as an athlete and appreciate what you have done and been a part of.
Any athlete that may ever need me for any reason, if for anything at all, know that I will always have an open hand and will help in any way that I can. If I have ever done anything to make any one of you hate me, I apologize and hope that it was either a misunderstanding or I hope that it can be left in the past.
Wherever life takes me I will continue to follow up and support everyone no matter where I end up. Continue to live life to the fullest and being the Region that I will always remember and respect. Sorry to anyone who thinks it was corny or a waste of time for me to come on here and post this but this is my free period during student teaching and I could think of a better way to show my appreciation than on the forum that I know most of the Region comes on to post and read every day.
Yours in Running,
Nick Stenuf
Hey Nick, as usual, class all the way. We at SUNY G salute you for your great efforts over the years.
Nick - you are a class act. See you in Hanover.
Nothing but class Nick, nothing but class

I agree, Nick is a great guy.
Man! It doesn't get any classier. Good luck always to you and Nazareth in the future.
Did clarkson qual as a team or did they have an individual?

Yes to the first. They qualified as the 4th team, followed by SUNYIT in 5th. It's a damn shame a region can't send 6 teams, or Hobart would've definitely gotten the nod. Next year, Statemen!
