For what it`s worth, 4th place finisher Minori Hayakari broke her own Japanese NR by 5 seconds, too.

Yes! Everyone but we the Americans is on drugs, they must be if they are running faster than us. Or maybe we are juiced but just not as heavily as the Russians.
Hayakari-san ran very well but I think that she should work more on her speed. Her stride is too much like a marathoner.
Because Wejo and Rojo will not require people to register in order to post. People are alot braver and more idiotic when no one knows who they are.

Yes, I agree they should require real names and confirmed email addresses and postal addresses in order to post.
I think that the hysteria about drugs is becoming worse than the dopers themselves.
No they should not require real names and registration.

What is "brave" about hiding behind a screen name?
I hate to divert this thread from the drug theme, but I was struck by the way this race went down- Willard does the grunt work this time, and Jenny snags the record in the end. Pretty much the opposite of the Trials.
When Jenny lead the Trials, she was the aggrieved working-class hero who got outkicked, so I think Anna deserves her props this time around.
They are so evenly matched that "whoever leads, loses".
We are quick to point fingers about people dropping nice PRs and assuming they are on drugs. Yes, 20 seconds in a 5K is a significant drop, but no one here questioned Amy Yoder? She ran a 5K PR for the last 5K of her OYLTrials 10K. She PRed in the 10 by nearly a minute I think. What is she too nice, or perhaps too American for us to point fingers?
You know, it is a damn shame that forever, any athletic performance that is amazing will be questioned by drugs...Thanks FloJo and Marion, and Ben Johnson, and Gatlin, and, OH, wait a minute, all these folks are Americans. Did we do this to our self? Hmmmmmm

Ben Johnson is a Jamaican Canuck.

how much money is Barringer losing out on by running for Colorado still? I mean, I imagine winning a race like that isn't for chump change exactly.
I thought Anna had a slim chance at a medal. Now I don't think so. This is twice now that she has let this so-so college runner beat her.
I hope Jenny Barringer stays for her final year at Colorado, but I am a realist. After her American record, and the strong possibility of making the Olympic Final in the Steeplechase, I expect her to go pro. She needs to strike now while her stock is high. I will continue to hope that she will come back to CU. But after last night, I don't blame her if she goes pro.
I really don't think wetmore should be handling the whole co team AND one of the best steeplers in US history. She needs a coach who can devote more time to her, as well as all the benifits that come with going pro (access to equipment, treatment, better facilities, etc.)
