I am a former D3 college runner who has never raced further than about 8 miles. I am taking the plunge and running a half-marathon in mid September.
Currently I am running about 50 miles/wk with on average a 12-14 mile long run. Given my work schedule I think about 60-65 miles is all I could handle. In addition, during the week I only have about 1 hour total to run each day.
As far as recent races, I ran a 16:22 5k in May but I think right now I am a bit more fit as that race was at the end of a long racing cycle.
My goal is sub 1:15 and I realize that could be pretty tough. Really something close to that for my first half I would be pleased with. Does anyone have advice on key workouts, general training advice or where I can get some more detailed training schedule for until the race?? Thanks.
