Lady Griz cross country will be bigger than lady griz basketball. Go Rita! Hey, how long until one of the mens coaches gets fired for sexual harassment?

Before the Spelling Nazis get me, that's "throw," not "through"
You're right. It's probably slightly more important than Idaho State
so I went to there web site to check out the womens team. What happened to Allie Brosh?
Well, the week has come and gone and we still have no word about the new leadership.
Either the adminstration has offered the job and discussions are taking place or the school is just not in a hurry to make a decision.
In any case, this does speak volumes about the school and how they conduct business.

Why does it speak volumes? Don't many schools are hiring a new coach introduce the coach at a press conference? This is DI, isn't it? This means they have contacted who they are going to hire and will fly them to campus for a press conference.
I have also heard Rita was offered the job...but she has no accepted it yet.
It speaks volumes in that it has taken almost 4 months for them to find a coach.
Good that they now finally have one. Hopefully she will get some support to build a program.
DI ???
In name only.
I know she's been injured pretty much all year and rumor has it she is currently ineligible for some academic violation but she's getting it appealed and should win it so she'll probably be back in the fall. That's weird they acted so fast to take her name down (but obviously not acting fast in getting a coach).
She's a good friend of mine. So here's what I understand is the case:
She was hurt for a long time (tore a muscle in her calf running on the ice, then got nasty PF and MTS) and our coach kept making her race for points so she never quite got better. She is feeling okay now and will run all three seasons next year provided that her eligibility is still intact.
She is currently ineligible because she changed her major at the beginning of her junior year and would have been okay but the NCAA just tightened their already stringent academic progress rules and since she started her current major so late she didn't make the cut off of 85% completeness. She is appealing and should win the appeal because she is a good student and has worked hard - not exactly one of the cases that the rule was intended for.
That's cool that you asked about her though. How do you know her?
Rita has ALL the qualities, and some, to be a great head coach. I don't have a clue as to the kind of support she will have but please believe she will maximize them!...Now I understand we ALL have our opinions, but when they are presented as though they come from THE source when clearly they don't we've crossed the line...."Her coaching drove away one of her stars"!?!?!...that's rich. Next you'll say collegiate athletes are perfect and free of fault.
Peace and love
So what happened to Danette Doetzel from MSU. She transferred to Providence didn't she? I would assume that her transferring would be partly due to the fact that Arndt-Molis couldn't coach a high school team properly. When Montana hires her they'll go down the tank and quick. Dale Kennedy won't have to worry about them touching his Bobcats for years if Arndt-Molis takes over.
So who really knows what is going on? Looks like Arndt-Molis has the job but no announcement. Maybe waiting until earlier next week (to do an on campus announcement) but that appears weak as the season is almost here and they really need to get going. Waiting a week only keeps the team in limbo and wondering. Is Arndt-Molis waiting to see if another, maybe better job comes along in a hurry (like the Miami (Ohio) job)? So she is stalling on taking the Montana job?
Must be someone close to the situation that can shed some light. Come on, toss us a bone.
Any news? No announcement yet. I figured one before the weekend. Or at least by this morning.
Must be nice to have all of these head coaching jobs being made avalible for an unproven coach. Has she proven to turn programs around?
Sometimes it's not always about turning around a program...sometimes it is about developing athletes and showing a progression of improvement. Sometimes it is about making the right steps in your career when you are a young coach to set yourself up for the situation she is in right now. Sometimes it is being lucky. Sometimes it is all of the above.
There are so many coaches out there who have improved a few athletes in the span of a few years. To be honest, it really isn't that hard for a young assistant coach to change the attitude of a program. Actually, it is quite surprising when young assistant coaches are NOT able to energize a program.
She has a skill set (on paper) that does not exceed that of most coaches. Most coaches with her same resume would not have advanced as far in this process as her. I think that is why many people are frustrated with this situation. However, most of us out here know that getting a college coaching job can be very much a factor of luck.
As an outsider, I would say that she has had a considerable amount of luck so far. I do hope that if she does get the job that she makes the most of it. It would be a shame for the others who really do want the position and would be great for the program to have to see someone not make the most of it.
LUCK.....have you seen her photo? she's very attractive. last time I checked a person like that, when they have some success, moves ahead fast. This happens in the real world all the time, just reality
