I was thinking about the best way to reach my potential in running, and was wondering whether this idea was stupid or not. I would basically be using an elongated version of the Lydiard System. For example, my base aerobic training would last at least a year, followed by a long period of anaerobic development, coordination training, and freshening up. Would this be better than traditionally using it three times a year to peak for XC, Winter Track, and Spring Track? I'm asking this because I'm a Senior in High School who could run in College,(15:53 5k) but I'm not sure if I want to. I moved my freshman year, and since then I've had bad experiences with coaches. Thanks
