Female running about 70 miles a week primarily concentrating on Halfs and a Fall marathon. Is is better to run 9-11 miles in the AM or split it up into AM and PM runs...

70 isn't really enough to double. you can but why?
Ya once you get over 75-80 mpw you should start incorporating doubles a few times a week. Maybe at 70 mpw do it once or twice a week but you still need some longer runs in there. if all you did was 5 mile runs you wouldnt really be prepared for the longer distance races that you say you do.
I love how people always just throw out random numbers at which it's "ok" to double. Where does this come from? Is it just random? If you're doing 70 right now and add in doubles you will get better. Don't decrease your mileage in singles, just add in doubles. There's no magic number-I remember doing doubles in hs of only 15 minutes or so while doing about 50 mpw and seeing huge results.
