Anyone wear the originals and the third version want to offer a comparison for me? I usually order shoes through a friend and don't try them on first because I get the same ones time after time, but I haven't had these since the originals came out.

bump. any good for quasi-minimalist high mileage?
I can't compare them to an older model, since the Tangent 3 is the first I've worn. But I've been happy with them.
I've used them long runs (20 mile runs so far -- will go longer in a few months) and they've held up well. I'm hoping to use them for all my longer runs, including marathon pace/fast finish runs. At around 8 oz for the women's, they're very light and comfortable.
One tip: they run large. Not quite a half size larger.
I just picked up a second pair from Running Warehouse for $66.
also can't compare to earlier versions, but I like them fairly well. Much spongier than the 902s or DS trainers, and probably more of a heel drop (which works for me). I'm transitioning out of a failed experiment with minimalist shoes and like having these in the mix with bigger shoes.
pearl izumi streak is a good alternative-- wider toe box though
