During the first half of the summer, I plan on building on my base mileage, with basically the second half dedicated to increasing lactate threshold (tempo run, cruise intervals)
During my first half of the summer (base building), I don't want to punish my body with hard tempos or anything that is going to tax my body. Yet, I do want to get some good workout s in like fartleks and hill/light speed repeats (with full recovery) to improve my form and keep my legs turning over.
I am looking for some suggestions for some fartlek, hill, light speed workouts for this first half of the summer. I was planning on doing something along the lines of 60 secs on/ 60 off for my first workout.
I am on my first week of base building, after a short 2 week stint re-orientating my body to running distance again. I am currently around 45mpw, and plan to work up past 65mpw to at least 70. Thanks in advance!
