I have had many bouts with tendonitis, including a mild case of patellar tendonitis that I beat back with the provebial stick. The two biggest factors for me was to ice like crazy, and easy rehab excercises to be done religiously. The excercises should be very light, so as not to strain the inflammed tendon but gently strengthen it. It sounds like your doing everything right so far. I have found that the pain of tendonitis never completly goes away until you get back on the roads. It sounds like you caught the injury early and may be a little over cautious. I have always felt a little "something" towards the end of the healing process, and the injury feels like it will never go away. I have found the best remedy to finish the healing process is to start running. 20min - 30min, 1 Day on 1 Day off (or some "sloth jogging": jog walk 2on 2off) for a week, after this the progression is quite rapid, 2 days @ 45min, 1 day off etc. The most important thing is to listen to your body; acute pain, stride altering etc, you need more time off. Never underestimate the power of positive thinking; with every stride imagine the tendons getting stronger. 2 weeks of rehab running and you may be surprised how quickly you are ready to roll. Once your running again Ice, ice ice and exercises religiously- be paranoid. This is what has worked for me, but you are the only one who truly knows how the injury feels, you may have caught this early enough where you hardly miss a beat (which is what it sounds like to me) Be careful, the worst thing you can do is to try to tough it out and end up on a six week hiatus.
keep me posted on your status. No matter what happens you must learn from your injuries so as not to be repeated blah blah blah.
