Today I did six miles in about 35 minutes. I want to do the same run each week this summer, with no other hard running (except the long run). I calculated that if I only take 10 seconds off each week that will be a full two minutes off by the end of the summer, which will put my very near my 8k best. It seems easy, but does development of tempo work like this? Will I plateau? I also plan on a steady milage increase from about 40 now to 60-70 in august. I did very little quality last summer and as a result stagnated. What have you got for me?
