Cause june is not yet here....why not start talking about cross country!
Any big recruits? Any Initial predictions?
Im going to pick Gleason for the individual title
Team title seems to be up in the air at this point!

I say Ruon and the Oles for the individual and team title.
didnt ruon play soccer last fall? is he planning on doing cc this fall?
he did play soccer last fall, but he is planning on coming out for xc this year...
With Gleason back, Hamline will certainly be strong.
We have the top 2 returners from last years conf meet..Bethel should be no lower than top 3....Hamline and Olaf will be in there as well

Bethel does have to top two returners, plus a solid third in Hinrichs, but the issue lies in depth--just like last year. They still lack anyone they can confidently call a 4th and 5th runner right now. They have a few young guys who might be able to step up to the plate, but unless they have big summers and come in ready to run 27:30s, there is no way Bethel goes top 3.
Ruon will burn out. No way he runs like he did in track.
I don't know about that. He ran 14:48 off of very low mileage. If he even trains 60 mpw for cross he will be a force to reckon with.
Individual predictions:
1. Gleason
2. Ruon
3. Gladitsch
4. Greeno
5. Bauer
6. Foley
7. Haglund
8. Hunter
Burnout's a myth.
Anyone think Boumeester will make the jump? he has always been more of a track guy, but it seems that he kind of exploded here in the past few weeks, maybe he will do the same in the fall, regardless UST should be a hell of alot better this year. Olaf will be good as will Hamline, it's going to be awesome, SJU not quite what they have been in the past few years, as everyone can guess
My Predictions:
Individual
1. Ruon
2. Gleason
3. Greeno
4. Gladitsch
5. Bauer
6. Gamble
7. Haglund
8. Foley
9. Lambert
Team
1. Hamline
2. Olaf
3. Bethel
4. UST
5. SJU
6. Macalester
Individuals
1. Gleason
2. Greeno
3. Gladitsch
4. Ruon
5. Bauer
6. Boumeester
7. Gamble
8. Haglund
9. Lambert
10. Mudry
11. Hunter
12. O'Neill
13. Foley
14. Marotz
15. Connell
Teams
1. Olaf
2. Hamline
3. Bethel
4. UST
5. SJU
i think for the past 3 years everyone has been waiting for boumeester to make his jump in cross country...it might be the 4th year of waiting, but Boumeester has probably the best chance compared to the rest of their XC team of doing something
Ruon is very good but not having experience on the como course might hurt him, but i still think he will get 4th.
you list four other olaf guys in the top 15, but dont include david green? the other post did that to, having lambert as olaf number 2. Green is olaf's most experienced cross runner and im guessing he will be there number 2 guy next year. Or am I missing something. Did he graduate?
While Ruon may not be an experienced cross runner or an 8k'er, he ran too darn fast coming off of soccer in the fall. He is by far the most naturally talented runner in the Miac and if he puts in some miles this summer I think he'll win come november.
If you look at results from last year, lambert beat green at conference and regionals, so putting him second isn't that crazy.

If you'd look at last years results, you would see that David Green had a rather sub-par cross country season. Granted he had a stellar track season--but in mid-distance. Lambert ran a couple stellar 5ks, as did Ruon, while Marotz ran a couple good 10k's. Green will need to have a more consistent cross season if Olaf is going to take a legit run at nats. I think he has it in him, but we'll have to wait at see...
how did connell run 15:16 but was bad at XC, is he just a poor cross country runner or did he just start getting better this past track season? I mean if you were at Lacrosse you woulda seen him crush haglund and marotz. It just seems a little odd.
