Did you just run 1500's every meet then? I know in our program we try and switch it up to get variation under and over race distance whenever possible.

watch out for the vikings out of augustana college in rock island, illinois. i moved to town last year and followed the team a bit....
returning:
dan baily (junior) 31:10, 14:44, 8:36 3K
chris zook (junior) 14:47
matt bowman (soph) 14:45
andy kubiak (senior) 9:10 steeple, 15:01
adam tisue (senior) 37:20 7 miler (bix 7)
kris hinchley (soph) 1:52
greg maggio (junior) 15:25
kenny slocumb (senior) 15:10
brad keating (soph) 39:20 7 miler (bix 7)
very deep team with a solid top 5....might be a big surprise this year!
the occasional 800 and 3k, but for a miler 5k is more than an "over race"
One example would Obrien and a few other 800/1500 guys that could break 15 in a 5k if they wanted. There are a few others in the 800 this past year at nat's that never ran a 5k and I bet could go sub 14:40.
exactly, you are figuring it out. Its all a matter of the focus, and even those that could run it off of their 1500 training there are the 800 runners that could def break 15 if they were to train for the 5k instead of the 800, i.e. more mileage, and longer intervals.
Well, if you couldnt provo in the 1500 why didn't you run the 5k if you could break 15, the provo for that is only 14:48

14:48 and 14:59 is a big difference
the women's field in the northeast opens up a lot with the graduation of some heavy hitters like heather wilson, anna king, cat beck and especially jen adams. but i'd have to say that tropiano with her consistent domination in the new england region will sure to be a top contender come november. also, zerzan graduated so i'd have to say this year is a wild card year.
I disagree, there is the girl from wisconsin river falls I think, that is technically a sr or 5th year, but was listed as a freshmen in track last year. If she is eligible for xc this fall and is running, I would think that it is hers to lose, I am sorry that I am blanking on her name, and I am also too lazy to look it up but she had some of the top times in the 5k and 10k last spring.
Becca Jordahl.
how much will kosgei win by? I predict 35 seconds.
Becca Jordahl graduated. She was only listed as a sophomore last year because she started running her junior year.
She still has eligibility left if she chooses to use it.
My bad. I was just informed that she said she was going to come back this year in her trackshark interview.

OH I would say a minute 35 would be more accurate.
