What about the fans?
Which teams were the loudest/most intense/best dressed?

Theres no way to tell who the loudest fans were. Intense? Pry all of them dont you think? Geneseo, Wartburg, and UW-
LAx usually have fans in paint, costume, and big flags. Really though there are crazy fans from every schoo.

Congratulations is in order for Heidelberg College!! They always seem to come on at the end of the year when it counts. It doesn't matter what coach they have with them, because their heart and bravery will carry them when people count them out. They weren't even ranked in the top 10 at their Regional and finished 19th defeating conference rival Mount Union in the process. Spectacular race!
Also, great job to Ohio Northern! Best finish in school history I believe. These upcoming track seasons should be exciting!
H-Berg ran great at nationals compared to how bad they ran all year. Coming into this year though, they looked to have some really great potential on paper. All in all, a good but nothing to be unexpected performance due to all that potential.
ONU did appear to run well, although they probably were hoping for more when the season began.
Mount clearly went backwards by Nationals but not as far back as Case Western did, ouch.
Looking forward to seeing how the OAC teams do during track.
Will Otterbein be able to bounce back from a rough xc season?
Can BW's top 2 do something big?
Another great Div III xc season has just passed

You must be wearing a pair of those speed goggles that many of the letsrunians tend to slip on. Borner is decent, but you wouldn't look twice if she wasn't a national champ.
I think Calvin may had the most people, but they weren't really that hardcore like Tufts, who were all painted, and Case, who all dressed up as spartans, and a bunch of other teams who didn't have the fan support advantage of coming from a school that only has one team that is any good.

Nah, Case ran exactly to their level at UAA when NYU and CMU stomped them pretty good. They were overrated all year and fell back to Earth.

I'm not so sure they were overrated all year. If you look at the results, they had a couple of key injuries, most notably to their number 2, and their top guy had a sub-par day at nationals. Had they stayed healthy and ran a solid race at nationals they would have easily finished 10-15 spots higher. Earlier in the year they handily beat ONU and heidelberg at all-ohios.
so what are we thinking for an indoor season?
any early predictions of who will be strong?
Which teams had the most obnoxious, loud, and painted fans on teams that woefully underperformed? OR Which teams had obnoxious, loud, and painted fans ACTUALLY make a difference? Which teams had obnoxious, loud, and painted fans half naked on a 30 degree day attending a $30K+/yr school that Mom and Dad are paying? (*the public SUNY and WIAC schools excluded for easy admission and costs of JUCO)
Anyone that begins a thread about 'who has the best fans...' certainly isn't a top performer. Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?
Unfortunately the WIAC school are not easy admission anymore.

Same as the SUNY's. Geneseo's average SAT for this year's incoming class was over 1300.

Ummmm using the new scale for the SAT's, a 1300 is pretty damn shitty.
Some numbers...
2008 College-Bound Seniors' Average Scores
* Critical reading: 502
* Mathematics: 515
* Writing: 494
Add those up and the total average is over 1500. So... I have no idea what you mean by them not being easy admission.
Not sure where you got those numbers...
collegeboard....SUNY Geneseo middle 50%
reading 620-700
Math 630 - 690
Now that no Harvard, but that has kept more than one athlete from getting in.
Heres my plan wrote:

That's exactly what they mean by easy admission. The kids at the private schools at nationals could score 1500 drunk and high.

And, in many cases do!
1300 for reading and math. Nobody gives a shit about writing yet. Geneseo is one of the hardest pubblic schools to get into in the nation. If you want to go by the 3 scores there average would be somewhere around 1900

Yep. You people actually think that schools look at the writing section?? Im pretty sure it's common knowledge no one gives a flying f*** about that since it's still new.
