Never posted before on here but have read a few of the threads a few times and thought would post a couple questions concerning my training, and whether I should be able to race faster than I am at present..
I run about 95 miles/week in mileage phase.
My normal running pace is run at around 3.35-40km(5.46 mile)pace for 15k+ runs etc Heart rate at 150-160 average. Slow recovery runs between 4-4.20ks(6.26-6.50 pace)depending on feeling.
Tempo runs of 15k are at 3.05-3.10pace (4.57-5.05) HR @ 170-175 Average. This is a normal week usually.
When it comes to work outs for 5k-10k what sort of pace should I be looking at running?
I have done a couple sessions of 2-3k reps x 3 at 2.53s etc.
My 5k race best is only 14.23..
Do I need to be looking at training faster in the more intense sessions? to get this PB down. I feel the base training is good...yes?..or is that time expected from this training?.
When it comes to the track I want to run about 13.30 but does the training need to change for this? more intense sessions?
