Could anyone tell me if the running shorts at Bill Rodgers store are any good? They are 7 bucks a pair and I might order some.

Grasshopper, you get what you pay for.
Time has bypassed the design crew there. Great gear if you like retro. Grab a jockstrap and go for it.
eastbay makes some reasonably priced running shorts. give that a whirl.
The Eastbay shorts don't have a key pocket.
Billy's store is to the typical, generic, cookie-cutter current running shop as the Beatles playing at the Cavern Club is to American Idol. You want highly researched glitz, full retail prices, and crap & marketing, try a "Running Company" store (put anything you want in front of "Running Company"---Ridgewood, Ohio, Morrisotwn, etc.--it's all these people come up with these days.) You want history---go to Billy's.
I bought a couple pairs a few months back.
Awesome feeling shorts, but very revealing.
Do they have a built in liner?
Where are you seeing the seven buck shorts - website? I ordered some stuff last year (warning: the sizes are as retro as the styles; would've been better off with one size up in both shorts and tops) at which time I thought he was closing up shop. And in fact at the yahoo site linked off billrodgers.com I don't see any of the old clothes.
