Of course, Lukezic's B-standard time from nationals last year falls within the IAAF-specified qualification period (Jan. 1 2007-Jul 23 2008) for Beijing, but I wasn't specific enough in my wording and wrote "this year" instead. I certainly regret this word choice because it gives an ignoramus like you the chance to jump down my throat. Whoop-de-doo. Well played, douchebag. Go back to dyestat Mike, you're a complete and utter tool. And while you're at it, check out the weather conditions when El Guerrouj set the WRs for both the 1500 and mile (both run in Rome in mid-July) and see if they conform to your hypothetical ideal.
On a happier note, here's hoping Lukezic gets his A, and Brannen as well. They ran impressively the other night.
It's clear as day you did not know it was from last year. Nice try. You looked at the USATF site and thought it was for this year only. Now you come on here pretending you understood what it really meant. Specific? You were very specific. You said this year. Maybe you don't know what specific means? This year is more specific then a 19 month range. Mrr82 made YOU look like the tool you clearly are. I've met Mrr82 on several occasions and he displays tremendous knowledge of running, and has shared insights that go beyond what many elite runners i know have, and i'm not exactly a bum myself when it comes to running. You however clearly do not know much about how the elite running works, let alone anything real about running. Anyone who truely reads what Mrr82 writes knows he is very knowledge about running. He may not always display it in the best manner, but sometimes i don't really blame him with how many ignorant people are on here like you.
I was at the meet and ran the 1500. It was not close to ideal. Found some good quotes from the article on the front page from Brannen.
A pacemaker took the leaders through 800 metres in 1:54 and 1,200 in 2:52 so the time was in reach but Brannen said the high humidity was a factor as they raced the last lap.
“It's hard to blame it on the weather but it was just super humid tonight,” he said. “I honestly think that played a big role on the last lap. My legs just weren't under me. If it wasn’t for that I am pretty confident we would have got it.”
