judging by the sexist shit that has been written here, YOU have a bad name.

cleared trees off the land? do your homework bud, pioneer women did a LOT of hard work, working the farm, carrying water to livestock, clearning land etc. Women didn't sit in the house and bake all day. And by the way, what does physical labor have to do with coaching - nothing.
--> I was responding to your assertion that there has been all this discrimination for centuries based on something other than necessity. I have no doubt that pioneer women lived a hard life, but I hate to break it to you that they weren't the ones following the plow, building the railroads, or working in the mines. You know what, good for them! They don't lack dignity just because they don't fall into whatever mold you are retroactively trying to fit them into.
--> I also never said that women can't coach. I do think it's wrong to hire someone for a coaching position based on something other than their qualifications, however. But then I am arguing with someone who was trying to quote the "Oregon Trail" computer game to me without bothering ot read my post.
Solving discrimination with discrimination isn't the solution, but you don't know if the university hired females to coach because, 1) they had the experience THE SCHOOL WAS LOOKING FOR 2) they came across top notch in the interview 3) They are trying to level their ratio of female and male coaches because they see how tilted it has been and they want role models for female athletes.
--> I'm smarter than you think and can tell discrimination when I see it. Plus I had my old coach tell me that they were specifically looking for a woman, so that probably qualifies as well. As to your third point, don't you think they should hire the best qualified candidate? Do you think that people (and women specifically) are disserved by having a subpar coach based on a quota syatem?
--> Next time you put some money in your 401k don't put it in the best stock, put it into a fund of only women-run companies. What, you aren't going to put your money where your mouth is? Don't you want to encourage women in busines just based on the fact that they are women and are under-represented?
Get over yourselves. You make some blanket statement about females and then you try to convince everyone else it is true. The immaturity and stupidity of many of you is shining brightly today.
--> I'll get over myself when you get over yourself.
