I'm 15 and a freshman; I ran XC in the fall and PRed with a 6:27 mile pace. Indoor track I ran the two mile and PRed with 12:06 but bombed the state qualifying meet with a time just under thirteen minutes. Outdoor I've been running the two all season thanks to my idiot coach; my best time so far is 12:28. My last three races have been TERRIBLE. 13:54, 13:21, 12:58... I don't know what's wrong with me. I just don't have it in me anymore.
I think some of this has to do with my coach's focus on easy miles. He also is completly against doing more than 1.5 miles of speed in a workout. How can I talk to him about this so it will stop hurting my performance? In indoor track when I PRed, we were doing 2 or more miles of speed. 1.5 feels like it's not giving me the endurance I need for the two mile.
HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPP!
