Do your really they are setting this up for a WR and just hoping an american will step up and pace?
Chances are they will bring a pacemaker with them.

If we could get The Fam to show up, he's got the craziness to give it a go and hang on to Bekele as long as possible. Could be 8 laps.....could be 23.
Could a host of guys toe the line and go as rabbits for differing portions of the race? Kind of like bike racers in a Madison race. One guy goes for 6-8 laps drops off while runner # 2 cruises along (even getting lapped) until he takes over for laps #8-12. Runner # 3 takes over for laps 12-16, etc. They'd all do the 25 laps, but at differing speeds during differing portions of the race.
I'd say the chances of Bekele running a 10k WR at the meet is probably around 5%. The chances he even runs the 10k are probably 50/50, maybe a bit higher.
bekele will not set a world record at pre. i said it here. hey will roll for 7 km and then reality will kick in and he will cruise to a 26 high.
I like wrs, but i like races more. el g ruined many championship races by paying off his countryman to rabbit him, and bekele's entrance has ruined this race. two packs will form immediately, the 2nd pack which would be the race for first if bekele wasn't in there will be a close fought battle, and much more exciting than bekele running by himself. unfortunately the 2nd pack will get overlooked.
my hopes, bekele get in over his heard and loses.

You can never please everyone...
Who by the way is stating that bekele is going for the WR? is it bekele's camp or the meet promoters.... the latter i suspect

you are not allowed to pace off of someone you have almost lapped (lead by 399 meters)

Ruined what race? The race was scheduled specifically for him. When has there ever been a 10k at Pre?
Truth is that 99.9% of Americans couldn't give a crap. Sure, Bekele is a great runner but coming all the way to America and taking a proverbial crap on the nation's doorstep just emphasises how poor American distance running is relative to Africa. Much better if he stayed in Ethiopia and raced there.
To all of you who dont think he can break the world record in the 10k think again. Yes 26:18 is extremely fast and hard for anyone to beat, but for him its much different. This isnt him attempting to break a "world record". its Him just attempting to set a new PR. HAHAHA dont you see!?!?! The only record he has to beat, is his self. On top of that, it makes no difference if he has a rabbit for 20 laps or even for 12. The last time he set the record he ran the last 5k completely by himself.
It makes a difference if he has rabbits. Rabbits definitely help.
lol. as opposed to selling no tickets and having you whine about how no one watches our sport?
I hope that Tom hires some Kenyan rabbits and one of them steals the race (and the WR). Mix it up!
