I recently got sent to a training program out of state fro my job. The place had a walking/running area on site. I got into the habit of just going out for an hour's run, guided by nothing but time...not mileage nor laps...and wound up continuing this upon returning home as I found I enjoyed it more than AT runs or intervals. Yes I'm over 40.
Oddly enough owing to circumstances (work, family, reality) I am unable to race regularly, but getting in this one hour trot (road, trails, park) has become akin to brushing my teeth every day. It feels odd if I don't get that run in.
I believe I'm enjoying my running more than ever, but don't really care that much about racing.
Has anyone else had a similar epiphany?
