Peeking is probably the hardest thing to do in my opinion. You have worked so hard all season and are a little worn out. But you are also in great shape. Then 2 weeks before the season is over you back off a bit. Now I know people who don't back off and that is a bit hit and miss. But for the most part you back off and then it starts to feel a little too easy and the compeitive feel is lost. Especially when nationals roll around and half the team is gone.
So what workout do you do to keep that competive feel. I have had good results with the following:
Monday: 1600-1200-800-400 (1 lap jog recovery)
Tuesday: 60 min
Wednesday: 8 x 300 <100 jog?
Thursday: 7 miles
Friday: easy 3 miles
Saturday: Race
