The thread title really speaks for itself. Most of the people who have broken 9.8 have been busted for (Ben Johnson, Tim Montgomery, Justin Gatlin) or implicated (Mo) in PED scandals. Has the WR gone beyond what is possible to be run clean?

If Mo ran 9.79 dirty then nobody today is running 9.75 clean
NO!
for 60m? yes!....
Is this a serious question?
i thought mo was possibly clean but i doubt that now.
sadly i doubt that any of the sprinters running close to 9.80 or under it are clean.
Given what is known, even if Mo did use from Heredia, it was in his attempt to re-claim the record after his injury spell. There is nothing yet to link him to PEDs earlier in his career and it would have been with someone else, so why the switch (although it does raise legitimate questions!).
No, it is not.
um, last time I checked the WR was 9.74
Is it possible for pencil necks like us to run 10.00 doped to the gills? no. anybody in the world 9.75 clean? It has been done. Once.
I'm starting to like the "They told me it was Flaxseed oil" excuse more and more.
They did not know- or more correctly didn't want to know.
Coach said it's OK to take.
Hey she passed 160 tests so it must be legit.
Everyone is doing it,regular people use it I even heard about it on Oprah.
Do not take anything the coach does not approve of.
MEMO,
Let's go to a south Mexican town and run a sub 4AT mile indoors and while we are there lets load up the white van with flaxseed oil.
I really doubt that any Sprinter in 25+ years has not been on some sort of PED.
Any sprinter? Any sprinter? Do you know how many sprinters there are in the world?
Try:
Andrew Rock
Allen Johnson
Shingo Suetsugo
Michael Tinsley
Joey Woody
Allyson Felix
Derrick Williams
Evelyn Ashford
Veronica Campbell
Lauryn Williams
Tyson Gay
Jana Rawlinson
Roger Black
Kriss Akabusi
Edwin Moses
Terrence Trammell
Wallace Spearmon
Walter Dix
Lionel Larry
Carol Rodriguez
Aries Merritt
Natasha Hastings
Mary Wineberg
Monique Henderson
Jason Gardner
Mark Lewis Francis
Darren Campbell
Matt Elias
Chris Rawlinson
Allan Wells
David Gillick
Colin Jackson
to start
You might be the biggest idiot that's been alive in the past 25+ years.
Speaking of idiots does anybody really believe the list shown here is inhabited by only pure athletes??????
I'm beginning to seriously doubt whether anyone has broken 9.90 without some help
...Because there's SUCH a difference between 9.90 and 9.89. A fart will do the trick.

so where do YOU want to put the cut off???? Or would it be easier to say 9.9? Point is, and I beleive the point was made earlier, there are few, if any, elite sprinters that are clean.
It is my understanding that upcoming revelations will make the Mitchell Report read like Heidi.
"Oh Heredia.." You think he's saying anything new? How many coaches are involved? Smith and Graham. Do you see any of their sprinters listed above?
As for limits, who can say for sure? Freak performances can happen in power events. Everything just lined up for Beamon in Mexico City. Even when you favtor out the wind and the altitude, he blew the old record apart because everything just came together. Things like that can happen every once in a while.
Who knows what our limits are? It's rare that everything comes together. If you look at the women, everyone knows that 10.49 is bullshit, not even for drugs, but because of the wind. Take that away and FloJo's 10.61 is still a way's off from Arron's legit 10.73, but much closer to Earth.
Has anyone (M or F) won Gold in track in the last 20-30 years clean?
Has anyone won the TDF in the last 20-30 years clean?
I think not.
wake up and smell the dope!
I would have to say it is possible but the guy to do it is in the NFL and on PED for THAT sport. But assuming they were track athletes and clean, it could be done. Also, the persons with that talent are in some country (Fiji, Jamaica, ect ect) that do not have the tools, coaches, and resources to produce a 9.75 guy (Obviously there are the few that do make it, Powell, Bolt, but think of how many other possible athletes there are that we'll never know about).
I hope Tyson Gay runs 9.73 and IS clean. He'd make a great spokesman for clean T&F.
Joey is clueless. Jonathan Edwards skips Worlds in '91 because he won't jump on a Sunday and yet you call him a drug cheat. Sure...
