solidly beat a 1:44 800m runner in christian smith.
yeah but smith is returning to form, and he's progressing nicely. smith will ultimately be faster given a summer's worth of training and racing.
It was amazing!!
He was in LAST place at the end of the first lap (he got boxed in) and then moved his way up to first! The announcer was like "Lannana's Ducks have got it again.."
Peter Kosgei, division 3 sophomore at Hamilton college ran 1:48.72 leading from the gun and winning by 2 seconds

NCAA 1500 Champion Darkhorse.
Soon, may not be a darkhorse.
Could be Acosta and Wheating going for the 1500 title or at least medals.
Anyone know what is up with Centro and McNamara? Those could be two of Oregons biggest runners in the 5K (it's hard to say that when you consider how deep they are right now).
I think Centro is redshirting, while McNamara hasn't run since his debut, though I think I saw he DNF'd in the 1500 yesterday. Not sure what's up with him.

I agree but the only problem is, he doesn't have all summer to get his "A" and make the team. For that matter, he doesn't even have a "B" yet after missing all of last year ("A" is 1:46.00, "B" is 1:47.00).
Love to see him make the team.
