I think pretty much everyone here would agree that striders on the easy days are a good thing, and at the very least they can't hurt. But I'm wondering what you guys think about running 100's versus 150's? I find that if I run more than 100 at a fast clip then it starts to become an anaerobic endurance exercise, so if I'm doing strides on a recovery day I like to stop at 100m.
I do have speedwork days on the track, when I run 150-400m repeats at mile pace or sometimes faster. But even 120m feels like too long for strides on easy days.
What do you guys think? As always, when giving input into a training discussion it's good to give your background. I'm a 15:0x 5k guy, currently running 90-120 mpw and shooting for a 2:25 marathon.
