Good Job Andy!! wrote:
Rupp is only half the runner that Pre was. Pre would routinely run the mile AND two mile at the same meet and win both. Then 6 days later, he'd do it again. We're lucky if Rupp races once a month.
You mean like when Rupp doubled in the 5k and 10k to get points for his team in both 2006 and 2007? A team he doesn't even have to run for and could instead be making well into the 6 digits? Does running in the mile/2mile make you great? Running it often? Please...people today complain people are over-raced, but then at the same time they point to the old greats who doubled all the time and say how great that made them.
You say Rupp doesn't even race once a month? you seriously have no clue
last year rupp ran 6-10k's on the track (which is generally considered ALOT), 6 5k's and 3 3k's. I may be missing some. last time i checked that was a bit more "lucky if he races once a month". Running a 10k in MArch, April, May, 2 in June, and august. That's racing a 10k every month basically!
2006 he ran 8 5k's, 2-10k's and 4 3k's. Again clearly more then once a month. And we aren't talking about a 800/miler guy.
Matthew Cameron, from Madison, Mississippi, ran a 4:07.32 mile last year as a high schooler. I believe it was at Nike Outdoor Nationals.
Hey fanboy Mrr82,
You know there is a pre vs. rupp thread, don't you?
This thread has been hijacked enough. Take your rupp-love somewhere else.
Also, another time that slipped my mind, although I can't link to verify. Houston Franks, originally from Tupelo, MS, ran a 4:02 mile probably at some point around 2000.
Andy Wheating needs to thank Galen for keeping his thread on the first page of the LR forum.
Only running three years? Sheesh, that's borderline Kenyan territory!

Hey loserboy Young goat
You know Mrr82 didn't bring Rupp into this don't you? or Pre? You know you are the one hijacking this thread don't you? You know you are an idiot and aren't worth to post on Letsrun or Dyestat. They need to make a forum where losers like you can post. Mrr82 was just speaking the truth against a bunch of retarded Rupp bashers. Get a life.
You probably cried when you wrote that.
Wheating is fast and probably getting faster.
Rupp is way overrated.
Who won that mile? Oh yeah, Wheating. And where was Rupp? At least he didn't DNF, that's got to count for something
Now feel free to carry on with your homo-fanboy-for Rupp antics. You could just let Rupp's results speak for him... but that wouldn't be any fun, would it.

Yes Rupp's Results
HSR/AJR in the 5000
AJR in the 3000
AJR in the 10,000
ACR in the 10,000
I'm sure Rupp's at home crying about his 403 mile that was used as a tune up for next week's meet. And even if rupp has a n off year, why are people like you so quick to put him down? Everyone has off years. It's not an easy task to follow up on a 2733 year, and Rupp like always is not trying to peak in April.

Kentucky also got their first, in Bobby Curtis last year.
Bobby Curtis ROCKS!
The real question is:
Is Rupp ever going to give up trying to go sub-4:00?

No, but he certainly needs a break from it. They when he comes back to it at Pre, it's goodnight sister...3:56.
Yes Donnie Called it here.
Ok so we have covered:

Rupp
