I ran a sub 3 in New York in 06, but training has since fallen off greatly. I went to Boston and no suprise I blew up around mile 15 after maintaining what would have been a 2:50 pace. I could have continued running, but walk/ran instead. I wanted to finish and did in 3:30. My thinking was that I would have a shorter recovery time and would thus be able to run another marathon much sooner. Granted my legs are a little sore, but no where near after my sub 3 effort. Has anyone out there had success running another marathon within a few months of such an effort with great success? I am ready to get back on it and with a week or so rest I want to get some more long runs to supplement what in Boston amounted to a training run.
