anyone try the new garmin 405?
i got a hold of one at the boston marathon expo, one of 300 they had on hand for their initial release. i had a polar 625 and was sick of the foot pod.
got one with a band that broke immediately upon taking it out of the box...the hole that the pin keeping the band on the watch was stripped...so i had to take it back the next morning. not a good start, to say the least. even though the guy helping me told me they didn't have any more of the black version (the green looks like puke in my opinion), after a little prodding he 'found' four more. didn't apologize for the hassle of my having to return to get a new watch and looked annoyed that i took it out of the box in front of him to check on the band...can't say i was impressed with the customer service. are you paying attention garmin?
overall the watch worked well. watch fits well and looks good, especially compared to the 205 and 305. mileage by gps said 26.36 at the finish (making it accurate to about 0.6% of the total distance). didn't play with any of the workouts or special features, but i found a lot of the special features very easy to use.
battery lasts 8hrs with GPS running full time. they say it will last two hours on standby mode.
anyone else?
