Does anyone know if the video that was streamed live this morning on NBCSports.com can be found and accessed? I would very much like to watch at least sections of the race, as I wasn't able to this morning. Thank you.
Oh please . . . .!
Yeah. I'd like to watch it, as well. I've gone to the NBC site but I've found nothing. The mens' trial was up the same day they finished. Anyone know where we can find a replay?

I think you just proved that they do. Nothing wrong with what he said. Deena's talking and running were inconsistent today. There's no rule against that, but the fans are entitled to disapprove.
I think that it takes them a day or so to package the video for their online download area as they have done for other Track and Field events...(that is the category it would be under). I suggest to check back in 2-3 days if you don't find out how to access it any sooner...it will probably be posted.
Thanks.
I don't want to hear from my trials winner and the apparent US olympic frontrunner that she was "panicked."

To be fair, I think she said "starting to panic" and it seemed to be meant as a compliment to Magdalena who was standing right next to her. But as somebody pointed out, she clearly let go of the race and if Magdalena had run a negative split she would have won.
Well there was almost no way that Deena wouldn't/couldn't run a negative split given the original pace of the race. While I've always been a Deena fan, there was nothing I wanted more than to see Madga bring it in for a win today...she earned it.

I hate to have to tell it to you in black and white, but being number 1 American does not put her on the short list.
The comment to which you are replying contained the word 'and' between the conditions of #1 American and defending medalist. You cannot ignore the defending medalist condition in this case. The homorganic consonant 'and' means both conditions are inseparable.

If you´re saying that Deena is a better marathoner than Paula, then you are stupid beyond belief.
nice 50 cent word but used incorrectly
the brits have a saying "on the day". deena was better than paula on the day. that is all i am saying. it isn't that hard to keep up.
as i said, i like paula but how many olympic medals does she have? get it?
Did you read the rest of my post? You'll see that I didn't ignore "defending medallist" but addressed this point directly.
"and" does not necessarily mean that both conditions are inseparable. (Sometimes it can be construed in that way, but I don't think that it the correct construction here.) "And" can be used both conjunctively and disjunctively.
I'm much more inclined to say that being a defending medallist puts her on the short-list than being number 1 American which is a total red herring. In many events even not being number 1 American can put you on the medal short-list (men's 200m) while others being number 1 American clearly does not (mens and women's steeplechase unless I've missed someone.)
Let's be real - on the startline the other marathoners are not going to be thinking - "Oh no - there's Deena, the number 1 American!", they'll be thinking: "there's that Deena - she ran a great race in Athens - I wonder what shape she's in these days!"
That's exactly why I mentioned defending medalist first. That is far more impressive than #1 American which is likely to impress a much smaller group (mostly just Americans). What we know is that she is a defending medalist and she ran a negative split sub 2:30 yesterday. At least for now, that puts her on my short list, if not yours.
Deena was 2nd to Colleen De Reuck at the 2004 Trials. So it means little.
There's nothing wrong with Deena saying she was "panicked." She wanted to win and was afraid she might not. So she set out to win. And she won. In other words, her "panic" did not scuttle her goals.
Interesting to look back at the stupid, opinionated, uninformed statements people make........
