Until 2008. Very sharp looking jacket, but since I'm not running, should I forget about purchasing one? When I've worn my others, I sometimes get approached by people to ask how the marathon went and other conversations around the jacket.
http://www.imageimpact.com/store/ps-68-10-2008-boston-marathoner.aspxIt almost seems like I'd be tyrying to fool people that I ran in '08 if I buy and wear the jacket. Am I being too strict in my view? I really like it.
in MY opinion, the jacket is just a little too busy/showy (sp?). i would like it a little more if it were toned down just a little, if that makes sense. that said, i still like it more than some of the other posters do.
if i were running this year, i would buy it. i like it enough to buy it.
as far as your question, i would not buy it, but ONLY because it has 2008 on it.
there is a school of thought that seems to say if you did not run (and i would add "or volunteer") at boston you should not wear their stuff. it may sound a bit "elitist" but i tend to agree with that. to my way of thinking that does not apply to you since you have qualified and run. i do not think the "year" on it somehow "disqualifies" you from getting it.
so i say if you like it go get it. no question you have earned the "right" to do so.
