Is it possible to have a good workout without running the day before? I took yesterday off and I have a pretty fast workout today on the track. This is my down week anyway for mileage and yesterday did not have a good chance to run due to school and work. So if I still run my workout today, will I necessarily have a bad one?
If some say no, does that mean you're going to bag it?
If some say yes, does that mean you're going to run?
Maybe the rest did you good and you'll feel wonderful. Maybe your legs needed some blood pumped in to them and you'll feel dead.
Tell yourself you have a workout. Focus. Don't think about having a day off or anything like that. Just go do it.
If it sucked, then so what? You did your workout. If it didn't, great too.
Those were my thoughts the whole time.
I guess the real question that comes to mind is:
Is it detrimental to run a hard workout without running the day before?
No. Can be helpful.
