Hey, I'm moving from Nevada to Dallas for the summer. Is there anyone out there that could use a training partner? I just want to stay consistent and it's always easier I think when you've got a group to run with.

Do you know what part of town? Also, how fast are you? Training paces will obviously dictate the audience for the question some.
I'm going to be in the Arlington/Grand Prarie area. I'll get there 1st week of May and stay till mid August about. As far as the training goes I'm looking for 10 miles a dayish... near 6 minute pace. I'll race a 5k at 15:00. That's pretty much where I'm at.
I'm on the opposite end of town and not in that kind of fitness level. That area is fairly sparse (I've worked out that way), but, you could find some good training groups in the downtown Dallas area or over near the lakes. If nothing else, there are a few store runs in the week (Tuesday or Wednesday nights) and Sundays.
your best bet may be to talk to the people @ Ft. Worth Running Co unless you want to head into Dallas to train with Luke's Locker and their groups...
Buy some shoes while you are there.
one word: RunOn
I've had nothing but horror stories with the Run On, from having someone try to just forcibly misfit me to having them carry nothing in stock it seems under a 9 won a Nike GC at a race for their store, its' just not worth the effort...I went to Luke's and never looked back while living there
There used to be a RunOn in Fort Worth, but it went out of business.
That was one incomprehensible montage of words. Was that supposed to be a sentence?

Alistair Craggs brother works at Lukes Locker and also runs a training group in Dallas
Keep checking this thread. I know a guy or two that live/train in that area and could keep up with you. I'll let them know about this (if they haven't already seen it) and if interested, they can send you an email.

yeah, guess I need to stay away from the keyboard late at night!
basically RunOn has been a horror for me and friends in the DFW region..from having someone basically tell me I had to buy a 767 (when I run in lightweight neutral trainers without issue) to not stocking anything under a 9 when others have won GC's at their store at races they support etc..
The rest of my time there I shopped @ Luke's and it was much easier..thankfully in CO the Roost and BRC are both good shops..
i call bs.
I second the Luke's suggestion. Go there and ask for Duncan Craig or Terry Jessup, they should have some pretty good ideas.

Thanks, that would be great.
I will be in Arlington/Fort Worth for the summer. I am a 1430 5k and 2:25 marathon guy and I am always looking for people to run with. I wouldn't mind hitting up some long runs.
DII Runner - Send me an e-mail so I can get in contact with you when I get down there. Are you from that area or just there for the summer?
I'm still looking for runners out there. DII runner-still interested?
