big deal
it would be nice if the article wasn't full of errors. one could assume that nike would research such things as how many laps a 10k is. last i checked it was 25 laps, not 25 1/2. webb did not win at the pre classic, he has not won since 2004. when he ran 330 he beat the french champion not the russian champion. man nike has some f'in idiots writing their ads.
The photo of the Zoom Victory will be the USA colorway for Beijing.
They are making different colorways for the different federations Nike has contracts with, and a white/gold version for Nike athletes whose federations don't have uniform contracts with them.
Not sure what the color will be for the Spring '09 version.
BTW, there will be a Zoom Ventulus with the Flywire technology for Beijing.
umm, nike spelled lagat wrong, and they're sponsoring this guy. how many overpaid interns are there working there ;)
is there such a thing as an overpaid intern?

yeah, weird.
that was the worst article i've ever read supporting a shoe
OMG, Lagat, Webb, and Goucher wore these shoes? They're fast, so it must mean if I wear them, I'll be fast too! I can't wait to get a pair!
From the link:
"In the twenty-five and a half laps around the track, athletes often find themselves focusing on the smallest thing that’s bothering them."
Twenty five and a half laps?
I think they are including warmup and cooldown.

Twenty five and a half laps?
And the Marketing machine continues on....
Some major errors in the release but that doesn't detract from the shoes. I saw them earlier this week and they are to other spikes what the MacBook Air is to other laptops. Lighter than the old Mayflys but more durable.
The Flywire technology was also used w/ a new midsole material to make some ultralightweight flats, which many of the women racing at the Trials next week will be wearing.
Also, there was an update of the ice vest that looks like something out of Star Wars or Battlestar Galactica. Nike might not always be able to write, but they sure push the design envelope like nobody else.
I'm pretty sure alan didn't beat Borzakovsky, and Kara wore ventulus' not victories in Osaka... Damn interns.
As they say in cycling, "Its not the equipment, its the engine."
You talking about the Lunars?

NO! LUNA'S
You sure about that? The racer is the LunaRacer, but the trainer is the LunarTrainer. The material is Lunarlite, so yes, they are collectively called Lunars.
Actually, Kara DID run 25 1/2 laps, if you count the distance she ran with the flag on her lap of honor, before they herded her off the track!
She did wear a Ventulus with the flywire upper.
ventulus with flywire upper is called the matumbo.
I got a chance to wear the victory's (as well as the rest of nike's upcoming flywire line) when our sales rep was in last week, and I must say... It is absolutely incredible. So light, but yet still one of the best feeling spikes I have ever put on. The price tag is hefty, but well worth it for serious mid distance runners.
