i have 3 heart rate monitors. all of them give me similar readings so i am assuming that they are fairly accurate.
i'm 28 years old, so using the formula of 220-age equals low 190's. well i have been able to get my hr up to just over 200. this is not that abnormal. so i figure that my max hr is the 202 that i achieved......with that being said, most of my normal aerobic runs should be 55-75% or so of my mhr. this would mean that my easy runs should be below 160 on average.
using daniels formula for easy runs as a guide, with my current fitness: around 20 min or so for 5k, my easy runs should be at roughly an 8:10-8:15 pace. when i run this pace for my easy runs however my average hr is atleast 175. this does not make sense though as i can run a 5k in roughly 20 minutes.
can anyone please explain to me how this is possible? i'm really drawing a blank here.
btw-for me to be in my hr zone of 55-75% of my mhr, that would require me to run 9:30 pace per mile. i simply cannot do that as it is too slow and affects my gait too much.
