I went to the JMRC in 1976. Great experience. It was held then at Pepperdine in Malibu. Dave Wottle showed up during the camp and went for a run with us. On that run I remember talking to both Jim Ryun and Dave Wottle a few minutes apart. Very cool. The group of kids then convinced Wottle to run a fast quarter on the dirt track. He was out of shape but still ran fast (with his gold cap on).

Sacto, of course Wottle ran that quarter fast....great running mechanics will do that for you. Note - he retired in 1975...one year prior (after ITA circus went bust).
Sacto, Wottle could run a sub 60 quarter right now...with 1 week preparation - that is my prediction.
If you're open to going elsewhere in the country check out The ALTITUDE Project
It's also a Christian distance running camp. It's in Mammoth, California. Awesome camp! I went this last year. Bunch of elite runners (including Olympians) showed up - Dan Browne, Ryan Hall, Josh Cox.
Also - Director Greg Jimmerson is currently coaching NCAA XC Champ Josh McDougal. It's a pretty legit camp.
I didn't start it, but I'll keep it going. Just for kicks.
Dates for the camps are June 29-July 4 at Gettysburg and July 27-Aug 1 at Colorado State.
Ryan Hall went to Jim Ryun camp a couple of times when he was younger. I tried to pick up the pace with him on a 10 mile run there. He subsequently dropped me shortly thereafter.
