I know 2:12 marathoners from a good few years ago that absolutely love their beer, BUT would only have 2 after training (partly because thats all they could handle after that level of intense training).
HOWEVER, today, it appears that celebrating a PB, or even a good week of training means having a booze-binge for an increasing number of serious athletes. Okay, maybe not the top elites destined for olympics, but national competitors, top club athletes, young university talents etc...
Some say booze (without too much of a meal) can help replenish lost cal's, not fill you up horribly and aid the recovery process! Think Guinness or other 'healthier' beers.
How does booze affect other peoples training?? Any strict booze diets?
