THIS is one of the best things that has been said in this thread. Back in the 50s up to the 80's anyone that had a college degree was some what exclusive. Now with Pell grants, easy student loans and easy admission standards (I think the standard for most is the ability to write the tuition check.) everyone has a bs or ba.
If you are a history, english, drama, psych major you will need to go into teaching or get some additional job training in a specific field. Most places are not looking for someone capable of doing the job, they want someone that can and will or better yet, has done the job.
They aren't going to look at your resume and divine whether you can do the task.
