I know a sophomore who started his season with a 10:54 and ran 10:05 in the same conditions. No Changes to his training; No indication he was in that fitness. Most shocking thing Id ever seen.

Jim Ryun ran 5:20 his in his teams time trial.3:55 As a senior.
Gerry Lindgren was DFL at his teams time trial. Qualified for Olympics as favorite(beat future winner) senior year.
